John Cena Sets Guinness World Record

John Cena is adding another trophy to his belt.

The wrestler-turned-actor has officially broken the Guinness World Record for the most Make-A-Wish Foundation grants of 650 wishes, Guinness announced.

When she was honored for granting 500 wishes in 2015, Cena opened up about the foundation and how much she enjoys what she does.

A few years after starting his career as a professional wrestler, Cena has been making aspirations since 2002. As his popularity as a 16-time world champion grew, so did requests from children to fulfill his wishes.

“Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with serious illnesses,” reads the Make-A-Wish Foundation mission statement, adding, “Wishes are more than just a good thing. And they are more than gifts, or one-off events in time. Only the act of fulfilling their wish can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatment.

On why he continues to grant children’s wishes, Cena said, “I want them to have an experience that will stay with them forever. I never want that with the kids or their families. Be treated in such a way that they feel as if they are against anything.
