No Man's Sky Hotfix Attempts to Address Criticisms Over Recent 4.0 Update

Hello Games has shipped a hotfix. No Man’s Sky Hoping to address some of the fans’ concerns with the recent 4.0 update. While there is a strong community around the Galaxy Quest title, even with it being a popular game on Valve’s Steam deck, there has been some backlash since the Waypoint update launched a week ago. The developer has received some feedback with the aim of fixing some of the issues players are experiencing.

A large number of No Man’s Sky Fans were unhappy with version 4.0, which was released to try and streamline the game, especially for those who were new to it or hadn’t played in a while and were held back by all the updates. was One of the biggest complaints voiced by many in the community is about the changes to the inventory system. While more slots were added to the player’s stock and armory, it came at a cost, the patch reduced the number of technology upgrades. Some criticized the game and the developer with a bombastic review of the release on Steam, currently sitting at a “mostly positive” rating.

However, it looks like Halo Games has tried to fix this with a new update. According to the patch notes, players who upgrade No Man’s Sky Save to Waypoint will be given an additional technology slot. On top of that, a new difficulty setting has also been added, allowing fans to “lock themselves out” of other difficulties, becoming permanent once the option is selected. Several bug fixes have also been made. Studio co-founder Sean Murray recently took to Twitter to say that players should start seeing “a bunch of improvements,” driven by community feedback.

It’s possible that these changes will comfort those who were unhappy with version 4.0 of the game, but there will always be criticisms. This is not a secret.   • Players who upgrade their save to Waypoint are now awarded additional free technology slots (this fix will also apply to players who have upgraded their save to Waypoint).
  • A new difficulty setting has been added that allows players to further lock themselves from changes to difficulty settings. Once activated, this process is permanent.
  • The Photon Cannon can now be deleted from a ship’s inventory, with at least one other weapon installed.
  • The power of the starship specialization bonus has been increased, so that higher tier ships have more inherent bonuses to their stats. This scales exponentially with both class and ship skill, so for example Explorer class ships will have significantly more warp range.
  • Along with damage, shield, and warp bonuses, starships now have an inherent agility-based stat, which benefits all maneuver upgrades in the same way that other specialization stats affect their respective upgrades. .
  • The stat bonus on procedural jetpack upgrades has been increased.
  • The stat bonus on the Procedural Hazard Protection upgrade has been increased.
  • The stat bonus on the Procedural Plus engine upgrade has been increased.
  • Stat bonuses on procedural hyperdrive upgrades have been increased.
  • Fixed an issue where broken tech could permanently block some inventory slots.
  • Exosuit shields have significantly reduced the chance of damage from breaking a piece of technology while charged.
  • Increased the drop rate of spawning sex obtained by live frigates from fleet campaigns.
  • The “Starting Slots” difficulty setting now adds additional inventory slots as well as additional companion and squadron slots.
  • Added a confirmation button to the “Delete Base” option when communicating with the base computer.
  • Hazard Protection now notes when HUD is severely damaged.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from loading their manual save in Permadeath.
